SBG Law Group is proud to welcome Robert Musto, Esq., a highly respected and experienced attorney who has served the Woodbridge Township, Middlesex County, and surrounding communities for decades. Robert brings with him a deep commitment to client advocacy and a well-earned reputation for excellence in Family Law, Municipal Court, and Criminal Defense.

After completing a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert L. Garrenger, Jr., P.J.F.P., Robert began practicing at a local firm before opening his own law office, where he has remained at the same Woodbridge location since 1990. Throughout his distinguished career, he has represented thousands of clients at both the trial and appellate levels and is known for his practical, resolution-focused approach to legal disputes.
Robert successfully represented clients in two notable Appellate Division decisions: Carter v. Carter, 318 N.J. Super. 34 (App. Div. 1999), and Lentini v. Lentini, 236 N.J. Super. 233 (App. Div. 1989). He has also successfully defended numerous third-offense DWI cases, helping clients avoid mandatory incarceration.

Admitted to practice law in New Jersey, the U.S. District Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Robert has also served as a Municipal Prosecutor in Woodbridge and Carteret, and as the Belmar Public Defender until December 2024. He is certified in the administration and scoring of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and has contributed to the training of fellow attorneys on this topic.

Before beginning his legal career, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He later earned his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and worked as a Senior Probation Officer in Middlesex County before attending Seton Hall Law School.
​
Robert has been a long-standing member of the Middlesex County Family Court Committee (over 30 years) and served on the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel (MESP) for more than 25 years. He has been appointed by the Superior Court as Special Prosecutor and to conduct evaluations on parental fitness and property disputes.
